The New Mazda CX-50 is Available in Des Moines, IA
The Mazda CX-50 is a compact crossover that can serve any driver's needs. Its more rugged exterior makes it ideal for off-road travel, while its upscale interior provides comfort and luxury. If you're after a smaller SUV that's a cut above anything else in this class, the new CX-50 is what you need.
What’s New?
Upgrades have been made throughout the Mazda CX-50. A new 10.3-inch center touchscreen is offered in the base trim, and Amazon's Alexa voice assistant is standard across the lineup. Additionally, all models, except the Select, now have a wireless smartphone charging pad, and enhancements have been made to the CX-50's driver-assistance tech. These include a new rear-seat alert system and better nighttime performance of the pedestrian detection system.

Exterior/ Interior Design
Like its CX-5 and CX-30 siblings, the CX-50 is a spacious five passenger crossover. The exterior is stylish yet rugged, while the interior is well-appointed and luxurious for its class. The front seats are comfortable and supportive, although the rear-seat space may feel cramped for some. All models have a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, pushbutton start, and a partially digital gauge display. And there's a large square dashboard to aid in the model's unique aesthetic.
Fuel Economy
Whether Urbandale or Ankeny drivers choose the base engine or the turbocharged model, they'll find the CX-50 to be quite efficient. According to the EPA, the most efficient CX-50 is the base four-cylinder, as it gets an estimated 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. With the turbocharged engine, those numbers drop by one mpg in each category.
Technology
In every CX-50 model, Ame's shoppers will find an abundance of tech. A wireless phone charger is standard on all but the base Select, though every model receives the latest version of the Mazda Connect running on a 10.3-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, as is an eight-speaker stereo. However, by upgrading to the Premium and Premium Plus models, shoppers will receive a 12-speaker Bose stereo with SiriusXM satellite radio.
Safety Features
Within all new CX-50 models, there's a full suite of driver-assistance features as standard equipment. There's forward collision warning with automatic, blind-spot warning and adaptive cruise control. Other features, such as automatic high-beam headlamps and a 360-degree exterior camera system, are optional or available in higher trims
